Dr. Patricia J. Larke is a Professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture, Texas A& M University. She has been a faculty member since 1984.
Dr. Larke has been a scholar in the field of multicultural education for over 25 years and was a mathematics teacher for 9 years. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in multicultural education in which she developed the first graduate research and theory course in multicultural education and the first undergraduate course in multicultural education at Texas A&M University. Her specific research interests are: 1) educating teachers for diverse classroom by using a cultural sensitization model that is built on the tenets of multicultural education and critical theory; 2) culturally responsive teaching; 3) diversity in driver education; and 4)cross-cultural mentoring. Her most recent research focus is on the academic achievement of girls of color. She is co-founder of Multicultural Mentorship Project that was disseminated in Illinois, Virginia and California. She has over 90 publications in the field and has made over 350 conference presentations. She was a 2005 Fulbright Scholar to China. She is a charter member of National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) and a former member of NAME Board of Directors (2000-2003). She was the recipient of NAME’s 2004 Multicultural Educator Award and served as President of Texas NAME, 2005-2006 and received the 2010 Legend Award.
Dr. Larke serves as PI on CHARMS Project.

YETUNDE ZANNOU
Yetunde is a doctoral student of education curriculum and instruction at Texas A&M University. A former mathematics educator, her interests center on teacher preparation for culturally and linguistically diverse urban schools. Her research looks at the preparation of alternatively certified secondary educators for instructing English language learners in mainstream classrooms.

Brandon Fox
Brandon is a doctoral student of education in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture at Texas A&M University. His research interests include mathematics and culture, multicultural teacher education, and equity and access.
